The PI of the RoboHike project is Dr Dimitrios Kanoulas, UKRI Future Leader Fellow and Lecturer at University College London (UCL), Department of Computer Science.
Bio
Dr. Dimitrios Kanoulas is UKRI Future Leader Fellow and Lecturer in Robotics and Computation at the University College London (UCL), Department of Computer Science. His research focuses on perception and learning for complex robots with limbs. Until August 2019, he was a senior postdoctoral researcher at the Humanoids & Human Centered Mechatronics (HHCM) and Advanced Robotics (ADVR) labs at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Genoa Italy, working with Dr. Nikos Tsagarakis and Prof. Darwin Caldwell on the WALK-MAN, CogIMon, CENTAURO, and Pholus projects. In September 2014, he became the perception team leader for the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) WALK-MAN team, for the DARPA Robotics Challenge 2015. In August 2014, he completed his Ph.D. at Northeastern University, in Boston USA, advised by Prof. Marsette Vona. He received a 5y-diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics Department from University of Patras in Greece, in 2008, advised by Prof. Paul Spirakis, and Dr. Haralampos Tsaknakis.
