PhD Scholarship: Development of Energy Efficient Machine Learning Models

[13:00 UK time on 28 January 2025]

Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of robotics, machine learning, and computer vision? Dimitrios Kanoulas and I are looking for a motivated PhD candidate to join an exciting research project exploring how multisensory integration can transform robotic manipulation.

This project will focus on developing multimodal Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models to enable robots to learn from real-world experiences, reducing reliance on large annotated datasets. You’ll work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies, creating models inspired by human learning processes and designing efficient fine-tuning techniques for real-world applications.

🔍 What We’re Looking For

  • ✅ Background in robotics, computer vision, or machine learning.
  • ✅ Strong analytical skills and a passion for implementing robotic systems.
  • ✅ Drive to innovate and advance machine intelligence for dynamic environments.

📩 How to Apply

If you're ready to shape the future of robotics and embark on a transformative research journey, we’d love to hear from you! Send your CV to us (xiaoxuan.lu@ucl.ac.uk). Please use the subject [DTP Application] in your email.
